SUSAN MARSHALL, ERYT200, Guild Certified Feldenkrais® Practitioner
Susan Marshall’s personal experience of head and soft tissue trauma has shaped her approach to improving movement. She employs a highly intuitive approach as well as a somatic methodology (using the brain and nervous system to make contact with the inherent intelligence of the body) to provide therapeutic somatic yoga, gait training and neuromuscular reeducation services to those who suffer from pain and inhibited or habitual movement.
As a 35+ year student of her Guru Swami Chetanananda, she has studied Kundalini Yoga, Tantric and Buddhist philosophical texts, mantra, meditation and hatha yoga. She is also influenced by the teachings of Dr. Linda Lack, the founder of The Thinking Body--The Feeling Mind® technique, the teachings of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, the founder of The Feldenkrais Method® of Somatic Education and the practice of chi gong. Her additional studies have included gemstone energy medicine and flower essences.
Susan currently teaches Gentle Yoga, Somatic Yoga and Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement® classes. She is an E-RYT® 200 Yoga Alliance certified yoga teacher and a Guild Certified Feldenkrais® Practitioner. In 2014, she founded the Feldenkrais Center of Portland.
