Would you like to learn how yoga can help you take control of your health and well-being?
Increased capacity for movement, relief from stress, and improved mood are benefits of yoga that go a long way toward forestalling or improving common chronic health issues, so you can feel good in your body.
Jesse and Ruth invite you to join them for a fun and experiential introduction to the health-increasing possibilities awaiting you in a yoga practice. They'll guide you through doable exercises for safe and effective body movement and essential focused breathing and relaxation, so you'll feel confident to take a next step in your yoga practice.
About the workshop and instructors:
Backed by decades of experience as a yoga teacher, teacher training faculty member, meditator, and personal trainer, Jesse will teach you basic yoga movements and poses within the context of learning and embodying good physical alignment (a neutral pelvis, spine, and shoulder girdle).
Ruth Knight teaches the Breathe and Be Calm yoga practice. She has practiced and taught yoga and meditation throughout her adult life, and is director of The Movement Center's yoga teacher training. She'll help you understand why and how focused breathing is key to the benefits of yoga, guiding you in connecting to a natural and functional breath that will melt mental and physical tensions from your mind and body.
Together they'll share fact-based information on the benefits of yoga, take your questions and assist you in your practice.
Everyone is welcome - all ages and bodies. If you have movement constraints or circumstances that will require individual attention, please let us know before you register. This will help us prepare for your best experience. Feel free to contact Ruth at 503-231-0383, ext 2201 with your questions.
