Ever wonder how to prune an unruly tree or bush in your yard to bring out its beauty?

Here is your chance to learn from an expert and help out at  The Movement Center--a true win/win. On Saturday,  August 17, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Master Landscaper Masa Mizuno will share skills in the art of Japanese pruning.

Masa Mizuno came to the United States from Osaka and was the landscape director of the Portland Japanese Garden for over a decade. As the president of his own 30-year-old design firm, he has installed public and private Japanese gardens around the world.

Bring your pruners, work gloves and join the grounds crew to watch, learn and practice with the best....and have fun in the process. Our focus will be the camellias and Japanese maples.

Lunch is provided.  All are welcome, and you can come for any part of the day. We especially need help at the end, when we have to remove the yard debris.

Please direct questions and RSVP to Jan LaRue if you are planning to come.
